Types of chargers
There are three primary types: rapid, fast and slow chargers. Rapid chargers such as Tesla Super Chargers, are typically found at motorway services. Fast changers, commonly installed for home and workplace, operate at around 7kW, charging most vehicles from 0 to 100% within 6-12 hours, depending on the vehicle and charger rating. Slow chargers, or trickle chargers are meant for emergency use and utilise a standard 13A plug socket, but can take 12-24 hours to fully charge a vehicle and are not suitable for daily use.
